Overview:
Chhatris of Barsana is situated in the Barsana town of Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh, India. This monument is believed to belong to a series of 'Chhatris' or cenotaphs or memorials that were constructed in memory of the Jat rulers of the region who ruled between the 16th and 18th centuries. The Chhatris at Barsana, built by Rana Man Singh, are renowned for their exquisite architecture and beautiful paintings. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The most striking feature of the Chhatris of Barsana is its intricate and intricate paintings. The main structures consist of four structures with each structure consisting of three storeys. The storeys consist of a dome shaped roof shaped like an inverted umbrella, a series of 'chhajjas' or covered portions, and beautiful painted arches or 'jharokas'. The paintings are mostly of battle scenes, hunting scenes, festivals, people in nature and many more. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
