Bauli of Vill. Majha Mohewal Overview Bauli of Vill. Majha Mohewal, also known as 'Bauli Deoli', is an ancient 600-year-old temple located in the village of Majha Mohewal, India. It is one of the most important religious sites of the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh and has been associated with many cultural and religious activities in the area. Prominent Features The main structure of Bauli is made up of a series of large stone slabs. The architecture of the temple is strikingly similar to the Hindu temples in India and the foundation stone on which the temple was constructed is believed to be more than 1500 years old. Inside the temple's hall are several sculptures and idols of Hindu gods and goddesses. The temple also has a pond where devotees take holy baths and offer their prayers. A large number of devotees can be seen worshipping at the Bauli temple every day. History The first settlement in the village of Majha Mohewal dates back to the Mughal and Maratha rule. The temple, however, is said to be older than the settlement itself, as it was already there before the settlement came into existence. It is believed that it was built by a local saint called 'Gurum Rai'. Interesting facts The Bauli of Vill. Majha Mohewal temple is visited by hundreds of devotees every day.
