Baoli Ghas Ali Shah In India: History,Facts, & Services
Overview:
Baoli Ghas Ali Shah is an iconic structure near Bahadurabad, Karachi. It was built by subedar of Sindh Mirza Jani Beg during the era of Mughal Empire during 1620 CE. It is a combination of a mosque and a Baoli (Stepwell). This structure was used as a place of worship where people used to offer their prayers along with offering water by descend to the lower level of the well. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The well is adorned with beautiful carvings and mural paintings. Visitors can see the minarets of the mosque and the stairwell that leads down to the well. There are some interesting features which have stood the test of time such as kund, kharok and the earthen flooring in the premises of the baoli. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour

The Ghas Ali Shah baoli is a unique structure as it is both a mosque and a stepwell. It is the only existing stepwell in Karachi which still holds its aesthetic charm.
