Overview:
Ancient Hindu Baodi is an ancient architecture located in Delhi, India. Built as an example of ancient Hindu temple architecture, it was built by Maharaja Pratap Singh in the 17th century. The temple is made of red sandstone and is an open-air structure with an octagonal pillared base. The backside of the Baodi is believed to have been used as a havan kund (sacrificial fire pit). This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The most prominent feature of Ancient Hindu Baodi is its open-air structure, which has two levels. The first level consists of eight arches, which form an octagonal pillared base. The second level is made up of numerous mini shrines, which are believed to have been dedicated to the Hindu goddesses. There is also an open court, which is believed to have been used for rituals.
