1.Entering the Church: Upon entering the Church, the faithful bow on the threshold in reverence to the Lord’s presence in the Church and seek His blessing. 2.Standing at the Letter: Once inside the Church, the faithful stand at the solea (a raised platform in front of the iconostasis which houses the holy icons) and bow to the icons, seeking God’s blessing. 3.Making the Sign of the Cross: The faithful make the sign of the cross three times with their right thumb, while facing the east and saying ‘In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.’ 4.Prayers: Prayers are then said quietly, either individually or in a group.
