Vunidilo Methodist Church is a congregation of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma. It is located in the city of Nadi, Fiji. The church was established in 1913 and is the oldest Methodist Church in Fiji. Vunidilo Methodist Church was built by Reverend John E. Briggs, a Methodist missionary from England. The church is one of the most iconic landmarks in Nadi, being easily recognisable from afar. It is one of the best churches in Fiji which you must visit.

History:

The church was established in 1913 under the leadership of Rev John E. Briggs, a Methodist Missionary from England. At the time, Nadi was the centre for the first and only Methodist mission in the whole of Fiji and Rotuma, and Briggs chose Nadi as the ideal place for the mission. Rev Briggs built the church, as well as a school and a hospital. The initial building was made of wood and had no windows. The first service was held in September of 1913. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Fiji.

The church has been officially declared a Historic Monument, and is kept intact as a historical landmark in Fiji. It has been painted yellow and accented with red trim to make it more eye catching. The church has three 32-foot tall stained glass windows, all made in the UK. The ceiling is constructed with seasoned mahogany wood, and the walls are all made of mud brick and decorated with woodcarving.
