Saint Michael’s began in 1964, when a group of Catholics, led by Father John Kyer, petitioned the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston to construct a parish. The Archdiocese agreed, and on March 12, 1966, the cornerstone for Saint Michael’s Church was officially laid. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Fiji.
