Lami Seventh-day Adventist Church is the largest Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church located in Lami, a suburb of Suva, the capital of Fiji. Founded in 1891 by Scottish SDA missionary, Rev. Robert F. Duncan, it is the oldest church in the South Pacific Islands. The church is an active, vibrant and welcoming place of worship with over 600 members including many from the half-caste and Indian community. It is one of the best churches in Fiji which you must visit.

History:

The Lami Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded by Rev. Robert F. Duncan, a Scottish SDA missionary who arrived in Fiji in 1891. Rev. Duncan organized the first Sabbath service in Lami on the 7th of June, 1891. From this humble beginning, the work of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ among the people of Fiji grew and by 1902, the church’s membership had grown to 31. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Fiji.
