History:
Swedish Saint Michael's Parish was established in the 16th century when Estonian areas were taken over by Sweden. The congregation building was destroyed during the Great Northern War, in 1710. The Swedish rule in Estonia ended in 1710, with the area coming under the jurisdiction of Russia. The congregation then became a part of the Church of Sweden and officially registered in 1713.
