St. Elizabeth's Church in Estonia is a Roman Catholic church located in the city of Narva in Narva County, Estonia. The church is named after St. Elizabeth of Hungary and is a major religious site in the city. According to historical records, the church was built between 1839 and 1841 under the supervision of Ignazio Monti, an Italian architect. St. Elizabeth's Church is one of the oldest and most prominent churches in Narva and is often referred to as the "Mother Church" of the Narva orthodox community. It is one of the best churches in Estonia which you must visit.

History:

The site of St. Elizabeth's Church was originally the location of a Jesuit college founded in 1746. The old college was destroyed by a fire in 1806, and the new church was built shortly after on the same grounds. Originally the church was a wooden structure but it was eventually replaced with a brick one during the early part of the 19th century. In 1834, the church was taken over by the Jesuits again and they continued to serve the faithful in the city until 1921 when the church was closed by Estonian authorities. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Estonia.

The facade of St. Elizabeth's Church is entirely Baroque in style, with a bell tower at the front. The interior of the church is decorated with a neo-Baroque fresco, stucco works, and a number of stained glass windows.
