History:
alu Cathedral is an Estonian Gothic Revival-style Lutheran church in Haapsalu, Estonia. The Cathedral is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and stands as the one of the oldest structures within the city. The history of the church dates back to as early as 1279, when a chapel was built on the site and a parish was established in 1290. The church was dedicated to Saint Mary’s in 1343 and underwent extensive renovations in 1656–1660 and 1792– 1799. The current Cathedral was built between 1856 and 1862, by architect Carl Theodor Hildebrandt, in the Gothic Revival style. Haapsalu Cathedral This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Estonia.
