St. Luke's Church, Holbrooks is an Anglican church located in Coventry, England. It was built by William Butterfield in 1877, and is considered one of the greatest examples of Victorian Gothic architecture in the city. The church was built to serve a densely packed area of terraced housing, and today continues to provide a worship space for people from the surrounding area. The church has a beautiful stained glass window, a wooden reredos, a two-manual organ, and a classical-orientated choir. It is one of the best churches in England which you must visit.

History:

The foundation stone for St Luke's was laid on 7th July 1877 by the Bishop of Coventry and the church was consecrated a few months later on 1 November. The church was intended to act as a daughter church of St Thomas' Coventry, which was 1.5 miles distant, and was designed by the renowned Victorian architect, William Butterfield. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.

St Luke's is an active centre for the Diocese of Coventry, and is a Grade II listed building. It is an irregularly shaped building with octagonal ridge turrets, in an Early English style. It has a tall spire, and is around 93 feet long and 27 feet wide, stretching 88 feet in height, including the spire.
