Holy Trinity Coventry In England: History,Facts, & Services
History:
The original church on the site is believed to have been built in the 11th century, but was destroyed during the turbulent years of the Wars of the Roses. Many subsequent attempts at rebuilding the church failed, and it was eventually restored in the mid 15th century during the reign of King Henry V of England. After its reconstruction, it became popular amongst the numerous Warwickshire families, who used it as a meeting place. The church enjoyed considerable patronage from these families, which could be seen through the quality of the building, such as the fine examples of stained glass that adorned the windows. The church was designated as a Grade I listed building in 1951, making it a protected part of the national heritage.
