History:
St John the Baptist Church was established in 1848 on London Road, Coventry. It was designed by local architect Harry Hems, who also designed several other notable buildings in the city. The first vicar of the church was Revd Richard Johnson, a priest in the Church of England. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.

St John the Baptist Church, Coventry is a Grade II listed building. It is known for its distinctive stone spire, which reaches a height of 135 feet. The church has undergone several refurbishments throughout its history, most notably a major refurbishment in the 1960s. It has also been the venue for several important events in the city’s history, including the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
