History:
Playa Rincon is a beach located in the Dominican Republic on the Samaná Peninsula in the province of Samaná. It is one of the most famous beaches in the Dominican Republic, and is renowned for its untouched beauty and expanses of white sand beach. The area has been home to the Taino indigenous peoples since pre-Columbian times. These people were skilled fishermen and hunters and were also known for their pottery and agricultural practices. In the early 1500s, the Spanish arrived in the region and began to colonize the area. Once the Spanish gained control, the Taino populations declined as a result of disease and exploitation. Following the Haitian Revolution, many French settlers settled in the region and planted coffee and sugarcane. Eventually, the area shifted most of its agricultural production from coffee and sugarcane to banana and cacao. In the late 1800s, a Dominican lawyer from the capital city of Santo Domingo, Francisco Marierre, purchased land in the Rincon Valley, which today is located near the beach. He developed the area, eventually constructing a wharf next to the beach. This allowed easy access to the beach for travelers from the nearby heritage city of Santa Barbara de Samana. Today, Playa Rincón is one of the best beach destinations in the Dominican Republic. It is also home to a variety of different resorts, restaurants, and bars, making it a popular tourist destination. There is also a vibrant nightlife scene, with many nightclubs and bars open late into the evening. You must visit one of these historical places in Dominican-Republic on your Dominican-Republic tour
