The traditional worship methodology at Thanikkudam Bhagavathi Temple is structured around the pooja rituals outlined in the Vedas. The primary offerings to the deity are a mixture of items like fruits, flowers, rice, sesame, lamps, etc. which is presented in a plate placed near the deity. This is known as Deeparadhana. A small lamp is lit in front of the deity and the offering is usually accompanied by chanting mantras and hymns. After the offering, devotees perform aarti with camphor lit lamps.
