The traditional worship methodology at Thanikkudam Bhagavathi Temple is structured around the pooja rituals outlined in the Vedas. The primary offerings to the deity are a mixture of items like fruits, flowers, rice, sesame, lamps, etc. which is presented in a plate placed near the deity. This is known as Deeparadhana. A small lamp is lit in front of the deity and the offering is usually accompanied by chanting mantras and hymns. After the offering, devotees perform aarti with camphor lit lamps. Prasadam distributions are also held after the puja. In addition to the regular poojas, special rituals are held during festivals like Vishu, Navaratri and Kali Puja.
