Crkva sv. Donata is a 13th century Roman Catholic church located in the city of Zadar, Croatia. The main hall of the church was constructed in 1226, while the belltower was added in the 16th century. The church is dedicated to Saint Donatus of Zadar and is one of the major landmarks of the city. It was built by the Dominican Order as part of the establishment of their Dominican Monastery. Crkva sv. Donata is renowned for its beautiful architecture and its vast literary collections. Most of the interior decorations and its walls are covered with precious artworks and frescos. These decorations are the works of the greatest names from the Middle Ages such as Benozzo Gozzoli, Giovanni da Santacroce, and Giovanni di Santacruz. The church also contains relics from St. Donatus, the patron saint of the city of Zadar. The church is open daily to visitors and there are services held during Saturday and Sunday. The church is regularly host to musical performances, concerts and art exhibitions. Events held at the church are often broadcasted via television and the internet. It is a popular tourist destination and many visitors take time to appreciate its beauty and historical significance.
