Neak Pean is a temple complex located in the ancient city of Angkor, Cambodia. It was constructed in the 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII as part of a long series of shrines devoted to Hinduism and Buddhism. The name, "Neak Pean", translates to "entwined serpents," which refer to the 8 lotus-filled pools surrounding the main temple.
