Christ Embassy was founded in 1987 by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, a medical doctor by profession. Initially, the church began as a prayer network, allowing members to connect to each other and receive prayer support. The church quickly grew, with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome preaching at multiple locations around Nigeria. In 1990, he launched the Christ Embassy television ministry which extended its reach even further. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Botswana.
