The church was started in 1996. It was the first Adventist church in Botswana and was initially under the jurisdiction of the North-Eastern region of the Trans-Mamorial Conference. In 2000, the Trans-Mamorial Conference organized the formation of the Zimbabwean Pacific Union Conference and the church became a part of this new conference. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Botswana.
