The Nata Monument is a memorial located in Nata, Botswana, and was erected in order to commemorate people who perished in the Nata Sanctuary bombings in 1966. The monument is made of blocks of granite and commemorates the tragic loss of many lives due to the bombings. It was erected in 1985 to replace the original monument which was destroyed by high winds in 1982. The Nata Sanctuary bombings occurred in April 1966 when the South African Air Force bombed Sanctuary, a village close to Nata, three times.
