Worship Method:
The Namdroling Monastery is home to the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery practices the traditional Nyingma rituals known as nyung-nye. This is an annual pilgrimage event that is dedicated to the practice of Guru Rinpoche, the founder of the Nyingma school. During the nyung-nye, the monks and devotees of the monastery perform various practices, such as fire offerings, prayers, and meditation. The primary worship ritual at the Namdroling Monastery is the creation of tormas. These are elaborate sculptures made from colored dough and herbs, which are believed to contain spiritual energies that are then sent out to cleanse and purify the environment. The tormas are typically placed on a shrine and surrounded by incense, flowers, and other offerings. Additionally, the monks chant special mantras and perform other practices as a part of the nyung-nye. Following the nyung-nye, the tormas are usually destroyed and the energy that they contained is spread throughout the universe. This most visited temple in Bhutan
