Workmans Seventh-day Adventist Church In Barbados is a Seventh-day Adventist Church located at Moontown, near the town of St. John in Barbados. It is the first church founded by Seventh-day Adventists in the Caribbean. The church was founded in 1893, with the construction being completed in 1900. At the time, the church was known as Arbaco Sabbath Keeping Company, a name chosen as a reference to the ancient parish of Arbaco in Grand Cayman. The church has since been renamed Workmans Seventh-day Adventist Church in honour of one of its founders, William Workman. Workmans Seventh-Day Adventist Church offers a range of services, including Sabbath school, church services, prayer meetings, Bible study, weekly fasting and prayer, youth activities, and outreach to the local community. The church is also involved in disaster relief efforts in the Caribbean, often working with other Seventh-day Adventist churches in the area. In addition, the members of Workmans Seventh-day Adventist Church provide medical and educational services to the local community, such as a medical clinic and a primary school. The church is an important part of the local Seventh-day Adventist community and is a symbol of the strength and unity of Seventh-day Adventists in the Caribbean. The members of the church work hard to provide Christian service to the local community, and to show their love for God and each other.
