St. Cyprian's Anglican Church In Barbados is an iconic religious setting founded in 1635. It is the oldest wooden church in the Caribbean, and it is the oldest Anglican church in the West Indies. The church was built by British settlers, who named the church after St. Cyprian, a Christian martyr, and village saint. It has survived wars, hurricanes, and earthquakes and is a heritage site of Barbados. St. Cyprian's Anglican Church In Barbados is the only wooden church and the only Anglican Church in Barbados that still offers services. The church was built of Caribbean Pine, which was the main material used in the construction of the island's houses and other buildings. Services are held every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday and include a traditional Anglican liturgy and a hymn. There are also special celebrations and processions throughout the year such as Christmas and Easter. The church also hosts a range of events such as educational seminars and cultural activities.
