The mosque stands atop a raised ziggurat and has a rectangular-shaped prayer hall with nine massive domes. The central dome is the largest and stands at 42 feet high, its four corner domes are 25 feet high and the remaining four domes are each 17 feet tall. The domes are decorated with intertwined floral and geometric patterns in terracotta, greatly increasing the visual appeal of the structure. The mosque also features a majestic sunlit courtyard surrounded by covered halls and elaborate entrance arches. The entrance arches consist of stone pillars and ornately engraved archways. The walls of the mosque are decorated with beautiful relief carvings of Quranic verses, birds and floral patterns. The mosque has seven richly decorated mihrabs (niches) facing towards the Qibla wall (Mecca).
