Brief History:
Feni Central Jame Mosque, located in the heart of Feni City, has been in existence since 1737 and still stands tall today. It is a bustling public and community space dedicated to the worship of Allah and was built by a few local farmers who were dedicated to serving and expanding their faith. The mosque has a unique architectural style, with three domes atop each corner, wooden walls, and a central mihrab (niche indicating the direction of Mecca). The mosque also has a large central courtyard where congregants gather for communal prayer. In the surrounding area, visitors can find many local shops which specialize in selling prayer items and religious books. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bangladesh which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Feni Central Jame Mosque is an example of traditional Mughal architecture. The mosque was built in 1876 and designed by local artisans in the style of the Mughal domes, arches, and geometric patterns. The mosque is a large white marble structure dominated by a large central dome. The dome is decorated with intricate geometric patterns and a crescent and star at its peak. Two minarets flank each side of the mosque, and there are four smaller domes on the corners. The mosque is surrounded by a large courtyard and embellished with exquisite stained glass windows. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Visiting Hours:
Feni Central Jame Mosque is open to visitors all days of the week, from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The mosque is also open during Friday's prayer (Ṣalāt al-Jumuʿah) from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. best mosque in the world.
