A central minaret, which stands more than 50 feet tall, stands over the central entrance. This minaret is the tallest in the Mymensingh district. The mosque is a fine example of Bengali architecture and stands as an important part of Mymensingh's cultural heritage. The Baira Jame Mosque has been declared a national heritage site since 1988 and has been restored and conserved by the Department of Archaeology in Bangladesh.
