The Puru Dalem Tukad temple performs a Balinese Hindu ritual called the melasti ceremony. It is a purification ritual in which the Balinese Hindus take water from the sea to cleanse themselves of spiritual impurities. During the melasti ritual, the villagers bring fruits and flowers as flower offerings to the temple. They also chant mantras dedicated to the Hindu trinity, consisting of the gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
