Worship Method:
Pura Dalem Jagaraga Temple is a traditional Balinese temple located in the village of Jagaraga, Bali. Worship services in this temple are known to take on traditional aspects and employ classical Balinese forms of devotion, music, and ritual. The morning worship service at Pura Dalem Jagaraga begins with a ceremony of cleansing and purification of the temple space. Incense and offerings of flowers, fruit, and rice are presented to the gods and prayers of praise to Shiva and Vishnu are offered. Some of the rituals associated with this stage of the ceremony include traditional music played on Balinese flutes, gongs, and drums. Next, holy water is collected from a nearby river and brought to the temple, where it is placed in the holy spring to facilitate purification and healing. The main ritual prayer of the morning service, known as “panca suci”, is then performed by the priest. During this prayer, offerings are made to the gods, thanking them for divine protection and assistance. The morning service then moves on to a series of prayers and chants, after which a non-ritualistic prayer is read by the priest. Towards the end of the morning service, food and drink offerings are made to the gods and a traditional Balinese dance is performed in celebration. Finally, at the end of the morning service, the traditional music is played and the temple bells are rung to signify the conclusion of the ceremony. This most visited temple in Bali
