Brief History:
The Shusha Upper Mosque is a historical and religious site located in the city of Shusha, Azerbaijan. Built in the early 19th century, the mosque was constructed under the patronage of Mahammad-Huseyn Khan, the last khan of Karabakh. The mosque has an unusual design featuring two synagogues, a library, and a meydan square with a simple fountain on four arches. The building is made of red bricks and has an Arabic inscription on its facade. The upper mosque's walls are decorated with stained glass windows featuring intricate patterns. Inside are two stone portals, each with its own cupola, and several carvings of Quran verses. The mosque is an important part of Azerbaijan's Islamic cultural heritage, and is a gathering place for the city's Muslim community. It is one of the most famous mosque in Azerbaijan which you must visit.

The Shusha Upper Mosque, also known as the Mehrentabbas Mosque, is located in the upper part of the city of Shusha in Azerbaijan. It is a brick-built and domed mosque, with a large rectangular two-story building. The main entrance is on the south façade, while the east and west sides of the building are embellished with petalia. The interiors of the mosque are adorned with delicate carvings, beautiful design and sacred inscriptions. The main prayer hall is located on the first floor, and the dome of the mosque is topped by a crescent and stars. The structure is also surrounded by a portico and several small alcoves. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
