Little Venice is a unique complex of artificial lakes and waterways in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. The complex is located within the former walls of the old city. It is the first in the city and second on the territory of Azerbaijan, opened for tourists in 2015. The complex consists of a seven-lake system with canals, arched bridges, boats, floating restaurants, and playgrounds. The complex also consists of an eco-tourism center, an entertainment area, and an observation platform overlooking the picturesque lake. It is one of the most beautiful monuments in Azerbaijan

History:

Little Venice is an entertainment complex located in the seaside part of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Opened in 2016, Little Venice was the first mini-city built in Azerbaijan and it features miniature scale versions of famous landmarks from around the world, as well as interactive attractions. Little Venice was first planned as early as 2012, when the decision was taken to turn a disused waterfront area near Baku's Boulevards into a unique urban complex. Construction began in autumn of 2015, and the complex was opened at the beginning of June 2016. The complex comprises of over 70 attractions, including a Venetian Grand Canal with various boats for experienced sailors and tourist trips, a Ferris Wheel, various restaurants, cafes, amphitheaters and art galleries, and a children's entertainment zone with a roller coaster, bumper cars, a Ferris wheel, an ice rink, a carousel and other rides. Little Venice has become an important tourist destination in the city. Its popularity has led to the opening of additional attractions, including a dolphinarium and a water park. The mini-city is also a popular venue for cultural events and concerts, and celebrations of national holidays. The success of Little Venice has become an example for other projects being planned by the Government of Azerbaijan, including the creation of a skyscraper landscape and a golf course.
