History:

Khan’s Palace is a former palace in Ganja, Azerbaijan. It was built during the 18th century which was the reign of Abbasgulu Bakikhanov, the Khans of Ganja. The palace was part of Ganja Khanate, a Turkish-Iranian-controlled state at the time. The town of Ganja had been a major trade center for the Silk Road between Constantinople and Persia managed goods including silk, spices, dyes and cloth. The Palace was designed by the famous German architect Karl von der Forsten and is considered one of the most important architectural monuments in Azerbaijan. The palace features traditional Azerbaijani building style with influence from European architecture. It consists of two floors with decorative rooms and halls with wooden carvings, tile mosaics and patterned walls.
