Haghartsin Monastery Complex In Armenia is a medieval Armenian monastery located in the Tavush Province in northeast Armenia. The complex dates back to the 10th century and consists of three churches, St. Grigor, St. Astvatsatsin and St. Stepanos, a gavit or entrance hall, a vestibule or narthex, a refectory, khachkars (cross-stones) and other structures. The main church, St. Grigor, is thought to have been constructed in 1281. The complex is best known for its elaborate carved khachkars and the surrounding lush forest, which contributes to its peaceful ambiance. The complex is a popular tourist destination, with religious and historic significance. It is also an important pilgrimage site for Armenians.
