Arkazi S. Khach is a non-profit organization which was established in 1995 to promote the cultural heritage and cultural awareness of Armenia. It was founded by former First Lady of Armenia, Lyudmila Sarkisyan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the National Commission for Cultural Heritage. It is a non-partisan organization dedicated to preserving the diverse cultures and languages of Armenia through various activities such as research, conservation, interpretation, education, and promotion of cultural heritage.
Arkazi S. Khach also strives to revive Armenian traditional crafts and fine arts, create partnerships with international organizations, promote Armenian culture around the world, and raise public awareness of the importance of preserving its cultural heritage. Many of its projects and initiatives focus on keeping alive the traditions and customs of the Armenian people.
Arkazi S. Khach has several key initiatives such as an online Armenian encyclopedia of culture, a regular Armenian traditional music composition competition, a language training program, a cultural development and training program, an annual cultural festival, a touring exhibition, and an international award. In recent years, it has developed a website containing information on Armenia’s cultural heritage and has pledged to promote conservation and sustainability of Armenian culture and traditions.
