The Argutinsky-Dolgorukov Sepulchre In Armenia is one of the most hallowed and beloved sites in Yerevan, located just outside the walls of the old city in the Bayandur district. It is the burial site of two well-known historic figures: Ivan Argutinsky-Dolgorukov and his grandfather, Mikhail Argutinsky-Dolgorukov, who both served as Russian ambassadors to the Persian and Ottoman Courts during the 19th century. The sepulchre was built in 1834 and is a unique example of Neo-Classical architecture, featuring a large central dome and four corner pavilions. Every day, hundreds of Armenians from across the country come to visit this revered site to pay their respects. The sepulchre is surrounded by a pleasant garden with various trees and plants and is one of the most popular tourist sites in Yerevan.
