, the Monumento a Luis Piedrabuena in Buenos Aires commemorates the memory of the Argentine politician and statesman who contributed to national independence and the formation of the Argentine Republic. The monument was inaugurated in 1951 and was designed by the architect Alejandro Bustillo according to the scale plans of the Ministry of Public Works, which approved it on the 23rd of October 1950. Located in the Plaza de Congreso in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, the monument is composed of a rectangular stone base from which an individual tribune is situated in which we can admire a bronze bust of Luis Piedrabuena. The monument has at its top a granite cross inside of which two reliefs stand out, one representing the breaking of the chains, symbolizing the national independence and national sovereignty, and the other one is a figure of the Republic. Inside the platform of the monument, there is a chair with a pedestal with the coat of arms of the Republic and a slogan confining the slogan to "Honor and memory of Luis Piedrabuena". The figure of Piedrabuena is distinguished by its gesture of leadership and looks towards the Congress Palace. During a ceremony organized by the City of Buenos Aires, in August of 2018 was made a tribute to the monument. Among the attendees was Piedrabuena's great-grandson. During the ceremony they also placed a marble board in its base that reads: "I am the past, I am the present, I am the future". Celebrating the monument, in 2018, The City of Buenos Aires installed the monument in the “Plaza de los Patricios".
