Congregación San Pedro was originally founded in Buenos Aires in 1915 by a group of German-speaking Lutherans, many of whom were sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) mission board. It is the oldest and largest ELCA-affiliated Lutheran Church in Latin America. The current pastor, Rev. Horacio Mundstock, was given the responsibility of leading the congregation in June 2018.
