The Museum of the Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force (ABDF) opened in December 2020, as part of a larger renovation of the ABDF Barracks in the capital city of St. John's, Antigua-and-Barbuda. The museum seeks to provide a place of remembrance for the valiant service of the ABDF as well as the history of the nation’s participation in global and regional defence initiatives. The museum contains artifacts, equipment, photographs, and information on the service of the ABDF and its warriors. Visitors can view heavy military equipment, a ceremonial stand of arms, and the Freedom of the City banner that was awarded to the ABDF in 2020. The various exhibitions provide a comprehensive description of the moments of conflict that have punctuated the nation's turbulent history. In addition to honoring the ABDF, the Museum of the Antigua-and-Barbuda Defense Force offers a unique educational opportunity to the surrounding public. The museum has developed interactive displays and opportunities for children to learn through games and activities. The museum is open between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Saturday.
