Dow's Hill Interpretation Centre is a multi-disciplinary site that explores and preserves the culture, heritage and history of Antigua and Barbuda. It is located on the Dow’s Hill Ridge near the village of Parham in Antigua. It was established by the Department of Culture in December 1996 and was formally opened in 2000. The Centre exists to explore and preserve the culture, heritage and history of Antigua and Barbuda, as well as to educate visitors on the rich and diverse culture of the island. It also houses a number of permanent exhibitions, such as an Antiguan-Barbudan art gallery, a research library, and a playroom for children. It is also home to a range of educational programming including summer camps, field trips, workshops, lectures, film screenings and more. The Centre is also an important site for archaeological research, with large scale excavations taking place in 2013 which revealed a number of significant installations including two Amerindian ceremonial sites, four Spanish settlements and two British forts.
