Casa d’Areny-Plandolit is a manor house located in Ordino, Andorra. It has a long and storied history. The house is believed to have been built in the early 17th century but the exact origin of the building is unknown. The house was acquired by Don Joaquim d’Areny-Plandolit in 1736. He was a parish priest in Ordino and had a lot of influence in the region. During his tenure at the house he remodeled it and also added to it. After his death in 1736, his son, Carlos d’Areny-Plandolit, inherited the house. Carlos lived in the manor until 1785, when he passed away. After his death, the house passed to his children, and eventually to Don Ignazio d’Areny-Plandolit in 1843. Ignazio was a renowned lawyer and politician in Andorra. He used the house for many purposes, and it eventually became known as a “Sala de Plens”. This was a chamber for meetings which was used for local discussions and decisions. In the last 20th century, the manor house was used as the seat for the first Andorran government. It remained in this role from 1983 until 1995, when it was replaced by a new government building.
