Ghazi Amanullah Khan was the first king of Afghanistan from 1919 to 1929. The mausoleum of Ghazi Amanullah Khan was built in Kabul in the late 1940s to commemorate the king's legacy and to honor his memory. The mausoleum was designed by Gabriele Kienerkofen and the construction was overseen by the Italian architect Giuseppe Manfredi. The mausoleum is located in the city center of Kabul and consists of a main square, a circular colonnaded hall, a pool, and two minarets that stand tall in the center of the square.
