This would be the first travel season in the past two years where people can travel around the world with their family and friends. Like the rest of the countries, India has also started preparing for receiving travelers from all around the world this winter.Â
Airports are receiving a flocking number of passengers because of the festive and winter seasons in India. Mumbai airport is the first to issue an advisory for passengers to travel early to avoid a ruckus at the airport. The chaos during the security check was evident at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). This encouraged authorities to issue advisory on social media asking passengers to arrive at the airport early than usual.Â
The advisory stated that the airport is witnessing a surge in passenger volume at the end of the year because of the festive season. People from all over the world are arriving in Mumbai to travel to the best places and Indians are also planning to celebrate Christmas and New Year in different places.Â
They asked passengers to arrive early and allocate extra time to complete all the formalities related to security protocols and other mandatory formalities. The authority asked the passengers for international flights to arrive at least 3.5 hours early. While passengers that are taking domestic flights need to arrive airport 2.5 hours early to the scheduled flight.  Â

According to sources, the airport released the warning to make sure travelers had enough time to finish all pre-flight obligations. Domestic travelers are recommended to be at the airport at least 2.5 hours sooner than those traveling internationally, who are asked to arrive at least 3.5 hours before their scheduled boarding time.
Speaking about the alert, a CSMIA representative stated that it is only being released for the holiday season because other organizations handle security and immigration checkpoints.
