The worship method of the Zhusheng Temple, located in Hunan, China, is an ancient tradition that has been passed down for centuries. It is believed to be the birthplace of Chinese Zen Buddhism and is one of the most important sites for Buddhist practice in the country. Visitors to the temple are expected to follow certain protocols as a sign of respect and reverence. All devotees must first kowtow in front of the statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy, and then circle the temple three times in a clockwise direction. Additionally, each devotee must also light incense as an offering and recite the Heart Sutra. Buddhist prayers are chanted to signify gratitude and faith, and the devotees bow three times to the temple altar before completing their worship. At the end of the ceremony, the devotees thank the deities for protecting them and the temple.
