The church has grown from humble beginnings in 1987 to being a global spiritual powerhouse, with branches in Ghana, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Greece. It is the home of popular prophet T.B. Joshua, who presides over the church and its services, regularly broadcast across the world.

SCOAN was founded by T.B. Joshua in 1987 in Lagos, Nigeria. At first, there were only 14 members in the church, but as Joshua’s fame and notoriety grew, so did the number of people attending services. In 1998, the church moved to its current address: a large compound in the city’s Ikotun neighborhood.
