St. Peter's Catholic Church is a parish in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco. Founded in 1868, it is the oldest Catholic Parish in the City of San Francisco.

St. Peter’s was founded in 1868 when Fr. John Harnett was installed as the first pastor of the parish. It was the first church established in what is now the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the 11th established in the state of California. In its early years the parish was composed mainly of Irish and German immigrants. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Nigeria.

The parish is credited as the birthplace of the Legion of Mary, a Roman Catholic lay organization intended to ensure greater involvement by the laity in evangelization and catechesis. St. Peter’s carried out the first Confirmation outside of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, when Fr. Tomás Maldonado, a Dominican priest, administered the Sacrament to two Filipino residents of San Francisco in 1883.

The Church offers weekly services, including daily Mass, Tuesday and Thursday evening Masses, and Saturday Vigil Mass. In addition, there are bible studies, RCIA classes and religious eduction opportunities. The parish actively serves the homeless and poor of the San Francisco area though its outreach program, providing meals and referrals. St. Peter's also has a large, vibrant Hispanic population that is served by the parish's Spanish language Mass.This beautiful church in Nigeria has made a lot of significance in the past.
