Worshippers go to the temple and light incense and pray to the god, hoping to receive his guidance and blessings. Worshippers also bow to the gods and make offerings of fruits and other items that are believed to bring fortune and luck. Offerings may also be made to the shrine attendants, who are believed to be able to communicate with the gods. Offerings can include money, food, and drink. During the worship ritual, worshippers preform prostrations where they kneel and bow on one knee with their palms pressed together in front of their chests.
