Worship Method:

The Melbourne Buddhist Centre follows a Theravada Buddhist methodology for their worship services. This includes meditation, chanting, and listening to Dharma talks (Buddhist teachings). On Wednesdays, the Centre holds a meditation class from 7.30 PM until 8.30 PM, which includes a guided meditation by one of the Centre's teachers and a Dharma talk from 8-8.30 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays the Centre offers a two-hour service which includes meditation, chanting, and Dhamma talks. On Saturdays this session begins at 10 AM and on Sundays it begins at 11 AM. The Centre also holds regular retreats and special festivals, such as Wesak Day, which is held to commemorate Buddha's birthday.
