Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building in Moscow is a Stalinist skyscraper located on the banks of the Moskva River in Moscow, Russia. It was built between 1949 and 1952 as a part of the general plan for the reconstruction of the city after the damage caused by World War II. The building was designed in the shape of two hammers crossed at their handles. Each hammer is split into six segmented towers. The tallest of the towers stands at 98.7 meters (324 ft) and is the 15th tallest building in Moscow. The entire building is faced with gray granite and is thought to represent the Soviet Union's ambition and industrial might. It contains offices and apartments, with a shopping center and a hotel on the lower floors. It is popular for its excellent view of Moscow, particularly the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square. The building was home to the Moscow City Hall and Moscow City TV until 2013 and is now a major tourist attraction in the city.
