The temple of Shri Ram Lutchmee, also known as La Flora, is a Hindu temple located in Mauritius. The temple follows the traditional worship methods of the Hindu faith. The basic ritual of worship at the temple includes offering of flowers, flowers coupled with water, offerings of fruits, incense, and many other materials (like grains and precious stones) which represent different aspects of a devotee's devotion to the deity. After the offering, a homa (Havan) is performed which involves the burning of a holy fire and chanting mantras to invoke the presence of the Lord. A priest then recites sacred verses from the scriptures while the devotees listen and offer devotion. This process marks the beginning of the rituals, which includes puja, arti and aarati. The puja ritual involves worshiping the Lord with specific rituals, offering of flowers to the deity and chanting of mantras and hymns. The aarati ritual is performed to invite the presence of the Lord in the temple accompanied with singing of devotional songs.
