St. John’s Church was built in 1714-1730, designed by Sir John Vanbrugh and Nicholas Hawksmoor. It is located in Smith Square, Westminster, and was the first church built in the Commissioners’ Churches, also known as the ‘Queen Anne Churches’. The church was partially destroyed by German bombs in World War II, but was reconstructed and renovated in the 1950s. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Ireland.
